Rent Party Cards collected by Langston Hughes

Rent parties were thrown in the hopes of collecting enough money to pay the… rent!

The Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library has a number  of invitations – or cards – that Langston Hughes collected from Harlem in the 1930s, 40s and 50s.
